Lightyear Entertainment is an American film and music distributor headquartered in Studio City, California, formed in 1987 as a management buyout of RCA Video Productions, Inc. from Bertelsmann. The company distributes independent motion pictures theatrically and through DVD, Blu-ray, and video on demand, and distributes music and music videos, with physical media and North American digital licensing handled through MVD Distribution and its North American music business handled through Virgin Music and Universal Music Group; it also co-produced the Jane Fonda workout video series that helped establish the home fitness video genre.
