LG Display is one of the world's largest manufacturers of display technology, headquartered in Seoul and founded in 1999 as a joint venture between LG Electronics and the Dutch company Philips to make active matrix liquid crystal displays before Philips divested its stake in 2008. The company produces TFT LCD panels, OLED displays and flexible displays across nine fabrication facilities and seven back end assembly facilities in South Korea, China, Poland and Mexico, and has supplied displays for products including Apple's iPhone 14 Pro and Sony's OLED televisions. LG Electronics remains the majority owner with about a 37.9 percent stake as of 2023, the company employs roughly 70,707 people, and it trades on both the Korea Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange.
