The Leopoldina Railway was the first railroad company established in what is now the Brazilian state of Minas Gerais. Located in southeastern Brazil, it was inaugurated in 1874 and eventually grew to more than 3,200 kilometers of track, including rack sections on the slopes of the Serra do Mar.
