Kirkland & Ellis LLP is an American multinational corporate law firm founded in 1909 and headquartered in Chicago, Illinois. Known within the legal industry as a white shoe firm, it employed about 4,145 attorneys across 23 offices as of 2026 and reported 2025 revenue of about 10.6 billion dollars, making it the largest law firm in the world by revenue. Its alumni include Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and former Attorneys General William Barr and Robert Bork.
