Kilroy Realty Corporation is an American real estate investment trust headquartered in Los Angeles, California, that owns, develops, and operates office, life-science, and mixed-use properties concentrated in a small number of high-barrier coastal markets, including Los Angeles, San Diego, the San Francisco Bay Area, Seattle, and Austin. The company's roots trace to 1947, when John B. Kilroy, Sr. established the original Kilroy Realty business in Los Angeles, and the modern public real estate investment trust was organized and began trading in 1996.
