The Kagoshima City Transportation Bureau is the public transportation authority of Kagoshima, Japan, operating the city's tram and bus networks. Founded in 1928, the bureau took over the privately run Kagoshima Electric Tramway the following year for about 4.96 million yen, inheriting 51 electric trams and 3 freight cars. Its tram system now carries about 10 million riders a year, and in 2020 and 2021 the bureau transferred some municipal bus routes to private operators, ending 90 years of running Kagoshima's public transport entirely in-house.
