JSW Steel Limited is an Indian steel manufacturer headquartered in Mumbai, part of the JSW Group, founded in 1982 originally as Jindal Vijayanagar Steel. JSW Steel is one of the largest steel producers in India, operating major integrated steel plants including the Vijayanagar works in the state of Karnataka, one of the largest single-location steel manufacturing plants in India, and it has continued to expand its production capacity to meet growing domestic and export demand for steel used in construction and manufacturing.
