Insomniac Games, Inc. is an American video game developer based in Burbank, California, founded in 1994 by Ted Price under the name Xtreme Software before being renamed Insomniac Games a year later. After its first project, Disruptor, sold poorly, the studio found success with Spyro the Dragon and went on to create the Ratchet and Clank and Resistance franchises in close collaboration with Sony Computer Entertainment. Insomniac later developed Sunset Overdrive with Microsoft Studios and the Marvel's Spider-Man series with Marvel Games, and was acquired by Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2019, becoming part of what is now PlayStation Studios.
