IndiGo is an Indian low-cost airline operated by InterGlobe Aviation Limited, headquartered in Gurugram and founded in 2006 by Rakesh Gangwal and Rahul Bhatia, with commercial flights beginning the same year. Built around a single-aircraft-type fleet of the Airbus A320 family and a strict low-cost operating model emphasizing on-time performance and minimal ancillary complexity, IndiGo grew rapidly to become the largest airline in India by passengers carried and fleet size, and among the largest low-cost carriers in the world. It has expanded beyond India's domestic market into an increasing number of international routes across Asia, the Middle East and beyond.
