Imperial Brands plc is a multinational tobacco company headquartered in Bristol, England, and the world's fourth-largest international cigarette maker by market share. It was established in 1901 as the Imperial Tobacco Company through the amalgamation of thirteen British tobacco firms formed to counter competition from American tobacco companies, and it rebranded from Imperial Tobacco to Imperial Brands in 2016 to reflect a broader product portfolio. The company makes cigarette brands including Davidoff, West and John Player and Sons, along with rolling papers, fine-cut tobacco and alternative nicotine products such as vaping devices and heated tobacco systems, manufactured at 30 factories and sold in about 120 countries. Imperial Brands is listed on the London Stock Exchange as a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index.
