Impala Platinum Holdings Limited, known as Implats, is a South African multinational mining corporation headquartered in Johannesburg that extracts and processes platinum group metals along with nickel, copper, and cobalt. Established in 1966 as a subsidiary of Union Corporation, the company operates its flagship Impala mine in South Africa's North West province plus operations in Zimbabwe and Canada, including Impala Canada Limited, formed after its December 2019 acquisition of North American Palladium and its Lac des Iles mine in Ontario; it also runs Impala Refining Services, which smelts and refines metals for other companies. Implats trades on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and the London Stock Exchange, reported revenue of R85.4 billion in 2025, and employs about 63,000 people, led by chair Thandi Orleyn and CEO Nico Muller.
