Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX) is a financial services holding company established on March 6, 2000 and headquartered at Exchange Square in Central, Hong Kong. It operates a range of equity, commodity, fixed income and currency markets through three major subsidiaries, the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Futures Exchange and the London Metal Exchange, and runs four clearing houses providing integrated clearing, settlement and depository services. The Hong Kong Government is the single largest shareholder and has the right to appoint six of the thirteen board directors.
