The Haras National d'Hennebont, or Hennebont National Stud, is one of five equestrian centers in the French region of Brittany, created in 1856 around the former Abbey of La Joie and inaugurated by Napoleon III in 1858. It had a long tradition of public stallion breeding for the Breton breed until state management transitioned to a Syndicat Mixte between 2007 and 2016, and it is now devoted mainly to tourism, featuring a horse discovery area, a driving school, and public events.
