Halma plc is a British group of safety equipment companies headquartered in Amersham, England, focused on hazard detection and life protection. Its history traces to 1894, when it was established in Sri Lanka as The Nahalma Tea Estate Company Limited, later moving into rubber production before becoming an investment and industrial holding company in 1956 and adopting its current name and public company status between the 1970s and 1980s. Halma now operates across three sectors, Safety, Healthcare, and Environmental and Analysis, employing about 8,000 people and reporting revenue of 2.582 billion pounds in 2026, having grown substantially through acquisitions in engineering and safety-related fields since the early 1970s. The company is a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index.
