Gusto, Inc. is a San Francisco based company that develops payroll, benefits and human resource management software for United States businesses. It was originally founded as ZenPayroll in November 2011, joined the Winter 2012 batch of the startup accelerator Y Combinator, and was officially launched by Joshua Reeves, Tomer London and Edward Kim on December 11, 2012, before being renamed Gusto in September 2015. The platform provides payroll processing and employee onboarding tools, and has expanded to include health, dental and vision insurance enrollment and administration, 401(k) retirement plans, and workers compensation insurance offered through partnerships. The company reported 500 million dollars in annual revenue in 2023 and surpassed 1 billion dollars in annual revenue by early 2026, with approximately 2,400 employees.
