Goose Island Brewery is an American brewery founded in Chicago, Illinois in 1988 by John Hall, and is the oldest currently operating brewing company in Illinois. It became known for pioneering bourbon barrel-aged beer, first producing its Bourbon County Stout in 1992, and expanded from local Chicago distribution to all 50 U.S. states by 2012 along with international locations. Anheuser-Busch InBev acquired the brewery in 2011.
