Gjensidige Forsikring ASA is a Norwegian insurance company that traces its roots to 1816, when a fire mutual called Land Gjensidige Brandkasse was established in what is now Innlandet county. The company demutualized and listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange in December 2010. Headquartered in Oslo, Gjensidige held about 26 percent of the Norwegian insurance market as of 2021, operating 36 branch offices and serving around 1 million customers, with subsidiaries in Denmark and Sweden. It provides insurance for retail customers, agricultural operations and businesses, along with pensions, savings products and banking services.
