The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) was established by law in 1968 with a triple mandate as Ghana's state broadcaster, public service broadcaster and commercial broadcaster. Headquartered in Accra, it is funded by government grants, television advertising and a television licence fee charged annually to households and to television retailers and repairers.
