The Georgia and Carolina Midland Railroad was a southeastern American railroad company formed in 1887 through the merger of the Augusta, Edgefield and Newberry Railroad with the Atlantic and Northwestern Railroad, consolidating two existing southern carriers. Later that same year it merged again with the Charleston, Cincinnati and Chicago Railroad, joining several regional rail lines across Georgia and the Carolinas under a single company.
