Genesee Brewing Company is an American brewery on the Genesee River in Rochester, New York, opened in 1878 on the site of an existing brewery dating to 1856. It produces roughly 2 million barrels a year, including its flagship Genesee Cream Ale and Genesee Beer, and operates as part of North American Breweries, which investment firm KPS Capital Partners acquired in 2009 before selling it in October 2012 to the Costa Rican beverage conglomerate FIFCO for 338 million dollars.
