Games Workshop Group PLC is a British miniature wargaming manufacturer headquartered in Lenton, Nottingham, best known for its Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 franchises. It was founded in 1975 by John Peake, Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson at premises on Bolingbroke Road in London, originally producing wooden game boards before becoming an importer and publisher of tabletop and role-playing games, and it was incorporated as Games Workshop Group on 9 December 1991. The company expanded internationally through the 1990s and now operates divisions including Black Library for fiction publishing, Citadel Miniatures and Forge World for resin products, while also producing novels, video games, board games and trading card games set in its fictional universes. Games Workshop is listed on the London Stock Exchange as a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index.
