Galaxy Entertainment Group is a Hong Kong-headquartered company that owns and operates hotels and casinos in Macau through its subsidiary Galaxy Casino S.A., alongside construction materials manufacturing and distribution across Hong Kong, Macau and mainland China. Founded in 2005 by Lui Che-woo after the company, then known as K. Wah Construction Materials, acquired a 97.9 percent stake in Galaxy Casino SA to enter Macau's gaming market, it is now chaired by Francis Lui and controlled by the Lui family, which holds about 50.3 percent through direct holdings and the Lui Family Trust. It trades on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and is a Hang Seng Index component, reporting HK$51 billion in revenue in 2015.
