The Fulton County Street Railroad was a streetcar company organized in 1883 in Atlanta, Georgia, by nine prominent local businessmen and civic leaders including former mayors James W. English and William A. Hemphill, initially authorized to run lines from Union Station along West Peachtree and Jackson streets into what is now Midtown Atlanta. Its main route, the Nine-Mile Circle, was built to develop the Copenhill neighborhood, and the company was merged into the Atlanta Consolidated Street Railway in 1891. Its trolley barns on Virginia Avenue continued servicing city buses until 1977 and were demolished in 1988 despite preservation efforts.
