Freshfields

Freshfields LLP, formerly Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, is a British multinational law firm headquartered in London and a member of the Magic Circle group of leading law practices. It traces its founding to 1743, when Samuel Dodd was appointed attorney to the Bank of England, and took its later form through a 2000 merger of the UK firm Freshfields with two German firms, Deringer Tessin Herrmann and Sedemund, and Bruckhaus Westrick Heller Loeber. The firm operates 33 offices in 17 jurisdictions across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America, employing about 2,761 lawyers and nearly 5,000 staff in total, with annual revenue of 1.472 billion pounds as of 2018 to 2019. Its practice covers banking and finance, capital markets, competition and antitrust, corporate and merger and acquisition work, international arbitration, litigation, private equity, projects and energy, real estate, and tax; the firm shortened its legal name from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer to simply Freshfields in 2024.
