French Data Network is a French non profit association, structured under the French law of 1901 governing non profit associations, founded on June 2, 1992. It operates as an internet service provider with a stated mission to promote the development of the internet and Usenet networks, and it is France's oldest continuously operating internet service provider, having offered dial up access since its founding before adding ADSL, VPN and fiber to the home service in later years. Beyond providing service to its members, the organization advocates for network neutrality and against restrictive internet legislation, and it was a founding member of the non profit network operator Gitoyen and of the FDN Federation.
