First Look Media is a nonprofit media organization founded by Pierre Omidyar in October 2013 and based in New York City, created as a venue for independent journalism in collaboration with journalists Glenn Greenwald, Jeremy Scahill and Laura Poitras, backed by a pledged 250 million dollars in funding. Its primary subsidiary is the investigative outlet The Intercept, launched in February 2014, alongside other properties including the comics platform The Nib, the production company Topic Studios, Field of Vision and the Press Freedom Defense Fund, with Michael Bloom serving as CEO.
