Filmstaden was a film studio in the Rasunda district of Solna Municipality, near Stockholm, Sweden, built in 1919 and 1920 and operated by Svensk Filmindustri. Once among the most modern film studios in Europe, it produced roughly 400 films, beginning with Victor Sjostrom's The Phantom Carriage in 1921. Svensk Filmindustri vacated the site in 1969, after which it hosted smaller producers and theater companies before being largely demolished for housing in the early twenty first century.
