Fifth Third Bancorp is a bank holding company headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, the parent of Fifth Third Bank, which operates more than a thousand branches and roughly 2,400 automated teller machines across twelve states in the Midwest and Southeast. Its name derives from two predecessor companies, Fifth National Bank and Third National Bank, which merged in 1908, and it ranks among the largest banks in the United States with total assets exceeding 214 billion dollars as of 2023.
