Ferrovie del Sud Est, abbreviated FSE, is an Italian railway operator headquartered in Bari, founded in 1931 to serve the Apulia region of southeastern Italy. It operates rail lines connecting inland communities of the Salento plateau in the provinces of Bari, Brindisi, and Taranto, particularly south of Lecce, along with complementary bus routes. After financial difficulties, its network was taken over by Ferrovie dello Stato in August 2016, and the company is now wholly owned by Italys Ministry of Transport, operating as a public benefit limited company.
