Erdemir

Eregli Demir ve Celik Fabrikalari, known as Erdemir, is the largest iron and steel producer in Turkey, headquartered in Zonguldak and founded in May 1960, with production beginning in 1965. Its main plant sits on roughly four square kilometers at Karadeniz Eregli on the Black Sea coast, alongside a company owned facility, the Port of Erdemir, used to import and export materials, and the plant has a crude steel production capacity of about eight and a half million tons a year, making plates, hot and cold rolled sheet and tinplate. Erdemir is owned by the Turkish pension fund OYAK.
