Emirates Telecommunications Group Company, known by its rebranded corporate identity "e&" since 2022 and still operating its home-market services under the long-standing Etisalat brand, is the United Arab Emirates' leading telecommunications operator, headquartered in Abu Dhabi. Founded in 1976 as the country's first telecom operator, it remains majority owned by the UAE federal government through Emirates Investment Authority, and it has grown into a diversified multinational group spanning telecommunications, digital services, fintech and international investment activities. Beyond the UAE, the group has held telecom operating stakes across the Middle East, Africa and Asia under both the Etisalat and local brands, and it has increasingly positioned itself as an international technology and investment holding company alongside its core carrier business.
