Emaar Properties PJSC is a Dubai-based real estate development company, headquartered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and one of the largest property developers in the Middle East. It was founded in 1997 by Mohamed Alabbar and is a public joint-stock company listed on the Dubai Financial Market, with major shareholders including the ruler of Dubai and the emirate's sovereign wealth fund. Emaar developed the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building at 828 meters, completed in 2010, and The Dubai Mall, one of the world's largest shopping malls, as anchors of its Downtown Dubai mixed-use development, alongside other large-scale residential and commercial projects including Dubai Marina.
