Elisa Corporation is a Finnish telecommunications company founded January 31, 1882 by electrical engineer Daniel Waden as the Helsinki Telephone Association, a telephone cooperative that adopted the Elisa name in 2000. Headquartered in Helsinki, it operates primarily in Finland and Estonia while also providing digital software services in more than 100 countries, serving over 2.8 million customers across consumer, corporate and international software segments, with revenue of 2.191 billion euros and about 5,781 employees in 2024. Its largest shareholders are Finnish institutions Solidium Oy, Ilmarinen and Varma Mutual Pension Insurance Company, and on June 27, 2018 Elisa launched what it describes as the world's first commercial 5G network, in Tampere, Finland and Tallinn, Estonia.
