Edenor, formally Empresa Distribuidora y Comercializadora Norte S.A., is an Argentine electricity distribution company established on July 21, 1992 and based in Buenos Aires. It distributes power across northwestern Greater Buenos Aires and the northern part of the city of Buenos Aires under a 95-year concession granted at its founding and running to 2087, serving about 2.5 million customers over 34,500 kilometers of network, roughly 18.5 percent of Argentina's electricity distribution market. The company is majority owned by Grupo America, with the state pension agency ANSES also a shareholder, and trades on both the Buenos Aires Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker EDN as a component of the MERVAL index.
