The East Gloucestershire Railway was an English railway company that opened a branch line from Witney to Fairford, Gloucestershire, in 1873, extending an existing line the Witney Railway had opened in 1861 to connect the wool town of Witney to the national network. The Great Western Railway worked both companies' lines as a single branch from 1873 and formally absorbed the East Gloucestershire Railway and the Witney Railway on 1 July 1890. British Railways withdrew passenger service on the branch in 1962, and goods traffic to Witney continued until 1970, when the line was abandoned entirely.
