Drukair Corporation Limited, operating as Drukair, Royal Bhutan Airlines, is the flag carrier of the Kingdom of Bhutan, headquartered in Paro. Founded in 1981, it began operations in 1983 with flights from Kolkata to Paro using Dornier 228 aircraft, later switching to BAe 146-100 equipment in 1988 and to Airbus A319 aircraft in 2004. It operates a scheduled network within South Asia and Southeast Asia from its base at Paro Airport, currently serving thirteen destinations in six countries with a fleet of Airbus A320 family jets, an ATR 42 turboprop and two Airbus A321XLR aircraft on order.
