Discovery Limited is a major South African financial services and private healthcare group headquartered in Sandton, Gauteng, and traded on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange under the ticker DSY. Founded in 1992 by Adrian Gore and Barry Swartzberg, Discovery operates the largest private health insurance company in South Africa, serving about 4 million customers, 1.36 million main members plus 2.72 million dependents, representing nearly 60 percent of the private health insurance market, and is active in 42 markets worldwide. The group launched Discovery Bank in March 2019, described as the world's first behavioural bank, employed over 15,000 people as of 2025, and reported total assets of R327.45 billion in 2025.
