Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT) is a British multinational media conglomerate and the owner of the Daily Mail, tracing its roots to the 1896 launch of the paper by brothers Harold and Alfred Harmsworth. Formally established on 27 September 1922, the company today operates across three divisions: consumer media (newspapers, magazines and digital titles), property information services that supply data for real estate transactions, and corporate venture capital investments. Headquartered at Northcliffe House in Kensington, London, DMGT was delisted from the London Stock Exchange in January 2022 after Rothermere Continuation Limited bought out remaining shareholders for 885 million pounds, leaving the Harmsworth family, through the 4th Viscount Rothermere, as controlling owner of the roughly 4,000-employee business.
