Línea Aérea Conviasa is the flag carrier of Venezuela, headquartered at Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía near Caracas. It was created by presidential decree on March 31, 2004, and began operations on November 28, 2004, operating domestic routes across Venezuela and international routes to the Caribbean and South America as a government-owned carrier under the Ministry of Aquatic and Air Transport.
