Clifford Chance LLP is a British multinational law firm headquartered at 10 Upper Bank Street in the Canary Wharf district of London. It was formed in 1987 through the merger of two London law practices, Coward Chance, which traced its origins to 1802, and Clifford-Turner, founded in 1900. The firm is a member of the Magic Circle, the group of leading London based multinational law firms, and in the 2022 to 2023 financial year it ranked as the third largest UK headquartered firm by revenue and thirteenth globally, generating 2.04 billion pounds. It operates roughly 3,680 lawyers across 34 offices in 23 countries, with practice areas spanning banking and finance, capital markets, corporate and merger and acquisition work, litigation and dispute resolution, real estate, and tax and employment.
