CJ CheilJedang is a South Korean international food company headquartered in Seoul, founded in August 1953 as a sugar and flour manufacturer and originally part of Samsung Group before spinning off in 1993. The company makes food ingredients, packaged ambient, frozen and chilled foods, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology products under brands including Beksul, Bibigo, Gourmet and Hetbahn, with Bibigo's Korean dumplings achieving particular global recognition. It operates offices across the United States, China, Vietnam, Japan and Germany, exports packaged foods to more than 100 countries, and functions as a subsidiary within the CJ Group holding company's Food and Food Service division.
