Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is an American fast casual restaurant chain founded in 1993 by Steve Ells, who opened the first location near the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado. It grew into a large national chain known for made-to-order burritos, bowls, tacos and salads assembled from a limited set of fresh ingredients along an open kitchen line, and for marketing built around food sourcing practices it calls "Food With Integrity."
