Chime Financial, Inc. is an American financial technology company headquartered in San Francisco, California, founded in 2012 by Chris Britt and Ryan King. Rather than operating as a bank itself, Chime provides fee-free mobile banking services through partnerships with two chartered banks, Stride Bank and The Bancorp Bank, offering checking and savings accounts, debit cards and other financial products through its mobile application; most of its revenue comes from interchange fees on debit card transactions. The company went public on June 12, 2025, trading on the Nasdaq stock exchange under the ticker symbol CHYM after an initial public offering that raised 864 million dollars and valued the company at 18.4 billion dollars. As of 2025 Chime reported revenue of 2.2 billion dollars, about 7 million customers, and approximately 1,300 employees.
