The Chester and Lenoir Narrow Gauge Railroad was an American railroad company chartered in 1873 through the consolidation of the Kings Mountain Railroad and a Carolina narrow-gauge company, building a 3-foot-gauge line serving South Carolina and extending into Lenoir, North Carolina, that at its peak exceeded 120 miles, the largest narrow-gauge railroad in the Carolinas. Operated for a time under the Richmond and Danville Railroad, it continued briefly on its own after that company 1894 reorganization into the Southern Railway before entering receivership in 1896, and was reorganized in 1897 as the Carolina and North-Western Railway, eventually being absorbed into the Southern Railway around 1940.
