CEMEX, S.A.B. de C.V.

CEMEX, S.A.B. de C.V. is a Mexican multinational building materials company headquartered in San Pedro Garza Garcia, near Monterrey, that manufactures and distributes cement, ready-mix concrete, and construction aggregates in more than 50 countries. Its origins trace to 1906, when Cementos Hidalgo began operations, followed by Cementos Portland Monterrey in 1920; the two companies merged in 1931 to form Cementos Mexicanos, later shortened to CEMEX. By 2020 CEMEX ranked as the world's fifth-largest cement producer by volume, with annual production of roughly 87 million tonnes and reported annual sales exceeding 13 billion dollars.
