Cargill is an American privately held multinational corporation that trades, processes and distributes agricultural commodities, food, financial products and industrial goods. William Wallace Cargill founded it in 1865 as a single grain storage warehouse in Conover, Iowa, and it grew into the largest privately held company in the United States by revenue, active across the agricultural supply chain from grain trading and farm inputs to food ingredients and animal nutrition.
