Canadian University Press is a non-profit co-operative and newswire service owned by more than fifty student newspapers at post-secondary schools across Canada. Founded in 1938, it is the oldest student newswire service in the world and the oldest national student organization in North America, and many prominent Canadian journalists began their careers through it and its member papers. It began as a syndication service facilitating story-sharing across the country, continuing as a private function until 2010, when it became a public online news wire at cupwire.ca.
