Canadian Tire Corporation, Limited is a major Canadian retailer headquartered at Canada Square in Toronto, Ontario, founded on 24 October 1922 when brothers John William Billes and Alfred Jackson Billes invested their combined savings of 1,800 dollars in the Hamilton Tire and Garage Ltd. The corporation operates department stores, gas stations under the Canadian Tire Petroleum banner and financial services through Canadian Tire Bank, and owns subsidiary brands including Mark's, PartSource, Sherwood Hockey, Sport Chek, Sports Experts, and the Canadian operations of Party City and Petco. As of 2022 it generated 17.810 billion Canadian dollars in revenue with about 58,000 employees, operating 667 Canadian Tire stores, 397 Sport Chek locations and 381 Mark's stores as of December 2021, under president and CEO Greg Hicks.
