Braugold was a brewery in Erfurt, in the German region of Thuringia, tracing back to two farm breweries bought on the street Grosse Arche in 1822 and 1827 and to a second brewery Christian Buchner founded in 1823; the combined operation took the Braugold trademark name in 1956. It brewed a range of beers, including the Pilsner Special Gold launched in 1967, and its annual output reached 2.5 million gallons by 1921. Production at the Erfurt site ended in autumn 2010 because the aging brewery building could no longer support economical production, and the beverage group Forest Hoff Braugold took over the brand on January 1, 2011, moving brewing to Braunschweig.
