Boliviana de Aviacion

Boliviana de Aviacion, stylized as BoA and shortened from Empresa Publica Nacional Estrategica Boliviana de Aviacion, is the flag carrier airline of Bolivia, wholly owned by the country's government. Founded in October 2007 and headquartered in Cochabamba, it operates most of its domestic network from Jorge Wilstermann International Airport and its international services from Viru Viru International Airport in Santa Cruz de la Sierra. It is the largest airline in Bolivia and the sixth largest in South America by fleet size and passengers carried, flying Airbus, Boeing and Bombardier CRJ-200 aircraft to 21 destinations in 8 countries, including a transatlantic route to Madrid. It was established as the successor to the former flag carrier Lloyd Aereo Boliviano, which ceased operations in 2007 after 85 years, and became Bolivia's sole main carrier in 2011 after the demise of AeroSur, the country's previous second largest airline. It became a full member of the International Air Transport Association in November 2014.
